Ah yes voting. A lot of the time you can only vote for non political things if you are a French national on the local voting list as I found out regarding changing the name of this dept the other week, French only so check the rules first.

Already done it, it’s fine, would have been cross and commented if not

I see what you mean, quite a few are really bad IMO, I got the feeling that I could have done better than some of them. I answered loads of questions on different designs and never got beyond €5 notes. I suppose all the surveys for the other notes are the same length?

Someone clearly has a fetish for birds…

No you are voting each time for the whole set, you need to scroll to the right on the 5€ to see the rest of each set.

Yeah it’s weird they are either famous dead Europeans or wildlife but thinking about it I also only noticed birds!!

There are only two designs. Several different designers have been invited to put their interpretations on the two themes.

I find the birds on the front/modern buildings on the back theme confusing and I think some of the designers did too. I would have liked to have had an option to say the front and back designs do not marry well. The dead Europeans are easier because there’s the face on the front and what they are famous for on the back - better homogeneity.

Good to see that they have included the British Isles on the map.

Who uses bank notes these days?

A lot of people do, I keep some handy as do family and friends. Not everyone wants to use technology or even knows how to for a lot of it if over a certain age or never worked in that field!

I voted - overall preferred the birds to the “famous historical characters” ones but I take @SuePJ’s point about the front/back designs.

I liked some of the bird designs - there was one series where the designs, especially the gannet and the avocet, were lovely - but overall I went for people.

Well, they couldn’t omit Ireland without incurring the wrath of M Lapin.

My dealer resents that remark.

Couldn’t he just use a straw for his blow instead?

We still use bank notes some of the time, it’s pretty common in the Aude.

I’ve read a couple of articles recently advising Brits coming to Europe on holiday in areas that could have fires. They recommend having some cash in case networks go down and bank cards won’t work.

Is Nottingham on the notes too then?

With great respect to @Toryroo, they are less ugly than Australian bank notes.

or how about this one from Iceland:
