New Normandy Neighbour

Hi folks. I’m a long-time lurker; I thought I’d introduce myself now as I’ve just bought a holiday home in Normandy and I feel a little more legit in your company. I chose Normandy because I was only looking for slightly less rain and slightly warmer temperatures than I get in Dublin, at a price I could afford. But mostly I was looking for somewhere quiet, with a beautiful built and natural environment where I could leave the world behind every now and then. So I saved for twelve years to buy a lovely (sleepy) village house. I can’t wait to begin.

Hello @JulesV and welcome to Survive France.

If you’ve been browsing the site for a while, you will know that you are not alone! I bought my house in Normandy over 30 years ago as a bolt-hole from the demands of life in the UK and I now live here permanently. I’ve never regretted it.

I hope you will feel free to ask whatever questions pop up as you settle into your part-time home.

Welcome @JulesV!

Sorry mate, but here in Normandy, it rains more than Manchester!

Well done! and welcome to the forum.

You’ve a lot of fun and pleasure to look forward to, whenever you come over to your new “home from home”. :+1:
