Sad to see Spirit Airlines have finally ceased after 43 years of flying. They have been in trouble for some time but the current unrest has tipped them over the edge. Flew to Vegas and back last summer with them and enjoyed their style of banter with the customers especially on landing when we all had to give a cheer for getting down in one piece and how they continually cleaned the cabin themselves everything there was rubbish to dispose of. Far better experience than with a certain Irish airline.
Yes it is - I flew with them once from Turks & Caicos to Fort Lauderdale (before they cancelled that route!) and it was a reasonable budget flight - only a 100 minute flight though.
I seem to recall the plane arriving late but that could have been weather-related, knowing the chaos that Florida thunderstorms cause.
I’ve just put my motorbike up for sale as I just can’t deal with the weight as a result of muscle loss from the hormone therapy and I can’t say I’m delighted. I thought I was getting away with it but, no, as I really struggled to get it on the centre stand yesterday. It’s not so much that it’s too heavy, more that it’s too tall and the weight is too high so, assuming it sells, I’ll be looking for something a bit more manageable.

I’m definitely not giving up, just down sizing. It’s probably good for the safety of my new French licence when it arrives (he rationalised).

Have you thought about a trike? My son in law wants to buy my daughter one because she won’t ride pillion on his big Indian yet she drives their ATV round the property. You can get some really funky models these days and there is one owner who comes past my house every so often with a beautiful metallic blue and chrome outfit, only downside is the garaging or parking as you are going much wider

That would be very much the last resort, all the disadvantages of a car (can’t cut through traffic, quite slow), all the disadvantages of a motorbike (exposed to the weather, still high risk if it all goes wrong).
It’s not that I can’t deal with a bike, just not this bike right now. To be honest, it’s always been on the edge for me with it’s height and weight but it’s just tipped over that edge in the last few weeks.

TBH that’s my feeling too - I’d rather have a convertible and able to feel the wind in my… well if I had some, hair, plus the advantages of a car. It doesn’t have the same roughty toughty biker image, but I don’t think that’s important if you’re a rider rather than lifestyle biker.
How about a more vintage style bike like an Enfield? Weight lower down etc.

While I find some of them quite attractive, it’s a step too far at the moment. I’m still in denial about ageing and decrepitude

BM’s can be very heavy, but parting with it can be hard especially if you like the bike. How about a Ducati?, some of them are not so heavy and beautiful to ride.
Sorry @JohnH , I can understand the sadness at having to let a loved object go, personally I could not wait to get off 2 and into 4 wheels, which is why I only had one, which looked nothing like yours though. 
Maybe one of the posher 400s or 650s would work for you? Still quite fun but not as hefty as your current BM?
My Honda NC750S is about the same weight as yours but I think has its centre of mass a bit lower, as the engine slopes forwards and the fuel is under the seat:
Mind you, like you I find it a lump to get on and off the centre stand…
