That might be the case in France, but there’s no workplace upper temperature limit in the UK.
It’s mad, isn’t it? A friend works in a pro kitchen and it was 54C the other day. I don’t know how people survive.

Not sure if I mentioned it elsewhere, but it turned out the lump was benign as hoped. The wound is now much smaller and hopefully healing well.

Just had an email from Engie to say they are putting up my monthly payment by €20 from August. Its not like a use a great deal either but they say general costs are forcing them to revise client’s payments.

They only charge for what I use so if not upto that amount each month I get a nice credit at end of the year and have no bill to pay. I’m not one of the folks who spend time looking for cheaper stuff and only really know EDF from being the main supplier up north and they are not here.
But that means you are lending money to an organisation that has less need of it than you do. I keep a watch on my account and once a month, before their due date, I pay to make it zero. Thus they are lending me money, without interest.

I used to be like that all the time David, pay on demand every two months but did not have that option here with Engie when the house was built and connected. Yes, I know they are having my money first but end of the year, I never get any bill to pay unlike previously when I had to start saving around August to pay it off in January. Swings and roundabouts but I feel happier in my mind knowing I have paid it each month already without having to life a finger.

Flipping petrol gone up 10 cents/litre in a matter of a couple of days here, now over €2,05/litre when I think everyone thought it was on the way down, however a lot of it is speculation that holidaymakers push the prices up during these two months as they have to buy it to get on they travels, same with food prices too, always went up in July and August.
