Now the threat is over, why shouldn't the protesters move on?

I’ve been reading quite a bit about this, opinions/stories seem to vary … what do you think about it all ?

There will be a lot of local people, who were hoping to have jobs very disappointed. And protesters ‘casting about’ for another ‘cause’ to fight
There was a referendum of locals btw, which resulted in a yes we want the airport majority.
The situation re clearing the protestors seems ‘ott’, the government want to display that they are restoring order, but maybe they should concentrate on the city areas, ruled by drug dealers etc, where firemen, doctors, even the police daren’t go, the protesters are a pretty harmless bunch, an easy target!

The protesters were defending the countryside against the threatened airport… :zipper_mouth_face:

But the majority of locals wanted the airport, people who live there, apparently, wanted it, bit odd

 It’s been on and off for nearly 50 years… :upside_down_face:

sounds a bit like Brexit… :zipper_mouth_face:
