Old Rockers in Sauveterre September 9th

Those within striking distance of Sauveterre in the far SW will no doubt be pleased to know that the Symbolics have been booked to play their second date this year at the Bar de la Marie on Friday evening 9th September.

The 3 old rockers who last played the Mauleon equivalent of Times square in June for French National music day, will be joined by the glamorous singer Denise to add a bit of sorely needed class to the ensemble.

The Symbolics were formed when the threesome were looking for a name, and Alastair said,

"I know lets be the Symbolics…

I will be Sym…

And you two can be the Bollics.

The rest as they say, …

is history.

The band play rarely in public as Richard the bassist, hibernates in the UK for the winter to avoid paying huge heating bills in his draughty French House, and Geoff on Guitar spends most of the year dead for tax reasons.

The Band play a mixture of English 60’s rock and roll and blues with some more modern tunes.

They have been compared to a cross between ZZTop and Cliff Richard and play covers of Eddie Cochran,Chuck Berry, Status Quo, Free, Doctor Feelgood, Elvis, K T Tunstall, Bad Company, Hendrix, Dusty Springfield and Credence Clearwater Revival.

This may be the last time to see the band in its current line up, as there are rumours in the media that they will be reforming as Denise and the Loud Shirts in the near future.

Everyone welcome, 20.30 start, loud shirts particularly welcome come, in your thousands,

( The bar holds 150)
