No, not what I have, but a place in France which will look after your pet when you are away.
Some may remember Hades the dog that was stolen from me by a villainous pension owner and since then I have worried about Jules’ fate if anything should happen to me.
This is because he is owned by an association and is with me for life in ‘panier retraite’ and it has an informal contract with the villainous owner.
Despite much searching I found no convenient alternative but while in the butchers’ today I saw a new place not far away. So that is my next move, a visit on appointment to check it out and, if it is ok, make some sort of arrangement for him to spend his remaining life with them.
Oh yes, I intend to do just that, and it may well not be needed, but I have this haunting thought that he will automatically be sent to Sharon’s if I had to go into hospital again, that’s all.
It would be good if the people who need to know had somewhere lined up to prevent that.
A similar concern over our beloved pet. We adopted her from SPA. Our second one from them. She is 7 now so quite young and I constantly worry about what would happen to her if we go first.SPA and our nearby rescue kennel do their best but is nowhere near the kind of life she’s been used to. O.K I admit it she’s thoroughly spoiled.
In the U.K. I always registered our dogs with a charity which gave exceptional care for the dog’s lifetime. We would be more than willing to provide money to provide for future vet bills etc. Does anyone know of any schemes here that may answer our prayers?
I know a very little about this organisation but I had thought that they only took on elderly animals. I will contact them. Thank you. In the meantime we’ll try and hope to live long and healthily!
