This is an old photo from 2001 of the Monument aux Girondins, Bordeaux which I’m trying my luck with - old camera/lens photo – no real definition – to upload to a Canadian image library. It was accepted after being refused twice. Didn’t know why it was initially refused until I saw a warning about nudity!

good afternoon…looking for advice on printing. I hzve a lovely canon 1000D SLR camera that has been with me me some time and taken some photos that surprised me they were not at all bad '(surely the camera ) and printing was a joy, took the card out of the slr and stuck in into the side of the printer and a joyous afternoon was assured, fiddling with colour and cropping etc, about 20 books of them. Then came the mobile. Hmm. Happy snaps mainly, some ok and good fun…WHAT DO I DO NOW? picked up the canon today and thought to have another go with the camera in its place in the car… oh. My printer, a Canon, has no visible means of printing, no slot in the side, all so modern. Aiee. Is there a photo printer i can link to the slr and have some fun again? If so, what? Sometimes old fashioned and easy is to be longed for!I’m sure there’s a way…
Upload your photos to your computer and print from that. You can also do basic processing and editing in the photo app included with windows.
Thanks…I’m so pathetic I dont know how to do it, so I’ll have wait for my old chum who looks after my computer to do it!!! computer, incidentally, wont give me orange mail at once, says site unavailable, and has to be kicked round the room to work, they keep telling me yahoo and bing and I’m disgusted by the whole busniess I bet its to do with meta, just reading Sarah Wyn Williams book on facebook called careless people… Dreadful…!
There’s a couple of ways.
Many computers have a slot that will accept the SD memory card from the camera. Just push the card into the slot and a box should pop up asking if you want to save the photos or open the card. I usually store photos in folders by date, opening the card and copy/pasting into a new folder that I create each time.
If your computer doesn’t have a slot, you need a USB cable that plugs into the camera’s “DIGITAL” port—it’s a Mini-USB (Type-B) cable on the camera end, and USB-A on the computer end. When you plug in the same dialogue box should pop up, but if not, use windows explorer to navigate to the dcmi folder on your camera, then copy/paste images as before.
A tip - don’t delete the photos with the computer, because that can corrupt the memory card. Instead, when you want to delete from the card, format it in the camera.
