I am hoping to put a one storey side extension on to our small one bedroom property.


The extension will be under 20 sq. m in size and I am hoping to start it 40cm from the boundary.


Obviously I need to meet with the Marie or his planning department to discuss it ( I live in Bourganeuf) any general advice would be welcomed.

You've already hit the nail on the head - go and ask at the mairie, if it's a small village then it'll be the maire, from small towns upwards there's someone dedicated to planning matters. ;-)
