I rarely get postage from UK … just cards mostly.
On June 12 a friend sent me two identical bits to repair a carburettor I am restoring - each piece hollow plastic about the size of a thimble. So small and light. Just sent normal post rate.
Not here yet.
I have heard about problems post-brexit and half expect customs might be involved, but heh, what’s happening?
What did they put these pieces in? The times things have got lost has been non standard small sizes. Now i ask people to put inside normal large envelope so it doesn’t fall through cracks.
Yes automatic sorting machines could be to blame…
I was really asking about postal delays from UK …
So no-one has experienced significant delays then?
Cards from the UK can be hit or miss. Never more than an extra day or two though.
Parcels from the UK: Make the necessary offerings to the Postal Gods and cross your fingers.
Or put Moist von Lipwig in charge.
For me, letters and cards from the UK seem to take between one week and three weeks to arrive in 86. Parcels between one week and six weeks.
Thx Brian, so my 3.5wks for a jiffy (not yet received) doesn’t sound particularly long.
I wouldn’t worry yet!
I’ve just ordered a Lions rugby jersey and a hoodie from the UK I’ll post when they arrive.
We did get christmas cards in March (i think it was) this year. Not sure whether it was a UK delay or here in France.
I used to have a magazine subscription which was sent via a donkey through Switzerland (the cheap bulk service). In the end I cancelled it and said I could cycle over to the UK, buy it and cycle home more quickly with it than using that service.
