Printer problem

Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do about my Dell printer. It keeps telling me that there is no black ink cartridge BUT THERE IS!! I've turned it off and on, removed the cartridge and reinserted without any effect. Any ideas...it's got plenty of ink in it, no warnings about ink being low...HELP!

It's a Dell cartridge...perhaps I'll try phoning them...

Apparently, sometimes you need to take the cartridge out & shake it well before putting it back in. There's a sensor inside that can get stuck.

If that doesn't work, please provide the model no. of the printer & whether or not it's a genuine Dell cartridge. It would also help to try a black & white copy & post whether this worked or not (assuming it's an all-in-one printer).

Is your cartridge an official Dell one or a "compatible" one?

Sometimes printers don't like some of the "imitation" cartridges.
