Problem getting French pension

Hello,

Does anyone else have difficulty getting their French pension after working 25 years in France, applying months ago and being well over pension age? I also worked in Italy but the Italian pension people recently informed me that the French have never contacted them despite having sent them numerous copies of Italian pay slips etc. Anyone else have a similar problem? Every time I contact the Assurance Retraite all I get is ‘C’est en cours’!!! Thanks and hopefully I’m not the only foreigner in France in this situation.

I am not an expert but there is at least one other person who’s posted on here in the past year with the same problem and she had more than one retirement Caisse? to deal with. She was trying to sort it from England and it did work but after a very, very long time and she did a lot of following up. You might want to have a look round this site or even google “site: survivefrance.com pensions not paid” for instance, to restrict Google search words you enter to be searched only on survivefrance.

Meanwhile why not go see your nearest France Services and ask if they can help you try to find out what is happening and what the next steps are and how long it will take to process. Take all the paperwork with you.

Mine was pretty seamless 21 years ago, don’t even remember applying, perhaps the company did it. But, unknown to me until a visit to the office on another matter a year later, the secretary asked if I had got the other pension, linked to the transport industry. I hadn’t and applied myself on her advice and got it straight away, but they didn’t back date it.

I remember too now that I went to a government meeting about the main one and happened to mention that I might do some casual work from time to time for my old company, so was advised that if I could afford to wait a year my own would be increased somewhat. I didn’t work, in the event, and then applied and was paid way more than they had suggested. No complaints at all. :joy:

Straightforward for me two years back now. Carsat couldn’t be more helpful and took very little time to get it into the system and paying monthly both pensions that I receive from them, same with AGIRC-ARCCO, fast and efficient too

My pension providor is ARRCO-Carcept, not really bothered but any idea what all these acronyms are?

I know that ARRCO stands for l’Association pour le régime de retraite complémentaire des salariés, but I’m not sure what the second part is an abbreviation of.

Some of them are listed here:

Some are very niche, such as CAVP (la Caisse d’assurance vieillesse des pharmaciens)… not to be confused with la Caisse autonome de retraite et de prévoyance des vétérinaires (CARPV)

I have an idea that Carcept is linked to the haulage industry, and maybe others too, but beyond that, no idea.
