Red alert: lipstick

Hello everybody,

I thought this may interest ALL of you (yes, you too, gentlemen!).

LIPSTICK INFORMATION:

Something to consider

next time you go shopping for

Lipstick.

and

If there is a female you care anything about,

share this with her. I did!!!!!

I am also sharing this with the males on my e-mail list,

because they need to tell the females

THEY care about as well!

Recently, a lipstick brand called 'Red Earth'

Was drastically decreased in price, because

it contained lead.

Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.

Lipstick brands that are known to contain lead are:

CHRISTIAN DIOR

LANCÔME

CLINIQUE

Y.S.L

ESTEE LAUDER

SHISEIDO

RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)

CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)

The higher the lead content,

the greater the chance of causing cancer.

After doing a test on lipsticks,

it was found that the Y.S.L. Lipstick

contained the greatest amount of lead.

Watch out for lipsticks

which are supposed to stay longer.

If your lipstick stays longer, it is

because of the higher content of lead.

Here is the test you can do yourself:

1. Put some lipstick on your hand.

2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.

3. If the lipstick colour changes to black,

Then you know the lipstick contains lead.

Please send this information to all your girlfriends,

wives and female family members and do not

forget their male counterpart!

Dioxin Carcinogens cause cancer,

especially breast cancer.

This is an urban legend and mostly false check in Snopes.

So do I (deodorant) and neither do I (lipstick) wbut still felt I should pass along this info.

Hear, hear!

Lead is much more likely to be associated with brain damadge and neurological disorders than cancer, but very worrying nontheless.

The latest research I can find, suggests that the levels in lipstick allowed, are 10 times greater than that in food colourings ( 1 part per mollion instead of 0.1 part per million), the justification apparently, because people do not swallow lipstick as they do food.

My advice for lipstick wearers, is the same as I would give to any cosmetics users. Use 100percent biodegradable, vegetable based ingredients that are usually therefore totally safe and also have the advantage of not needing to be tested on animals.

(sorry girls, but I have to say, if you put animal welfare below your need to look "good", then your view of "good" is absoloutely twisted and selfish).

Besides, the money paid to those so called "reputable" cosmetics companies in the above list, is in the opinion of most women, I think, a huge rip off.

I always use a rock crystal deodorant, which is totally inert, non-perfumed and safe.

I am not a lipstick user, but these are all expensive brands, which I would not buy anyway.
