Reregistration of S1 after moving house within France

The overseas health service in the UK have asked me this question. Have the French health department asked me to reregister my S1 after a change of address within France. Apparently, some countries require it others do not. Will ask my caisse tomorrow but in the meantime thought someone here might know . Thanks

Bonjour!

Yes, you need to update both Carte Vitale with your new and current address but only if you moved to a new department

You should also notify your assurance mutuelle if you have one.

This may be handy for registering your change of address elsewhere

This link to another website gives you a clear indication of when you should be registering your change of address

Hope this helps and that you enjoy playing the challenge of France Bureaucracy

Thankyou- for taking the time to answer. However, the question was a different one to do specifically with a UK provided S1 form.
Has anyone who has gone through all the moving home processes with the French health department also been required to reregister their form S1?
Thanks

I “help” local Brits and have never had to help anyone “reregister” their S1 when they’ve moved within France.

Hopefully, someone who has changed address/department in the last 3 years… will come forward

Thankyou-. As usual it’s a complicated situation… A combination of moving house and starting to receive my state pension which means I now need an S1 in my own right. Ok, working on that. The question (being asked by the UK overseas health department not me) is whether my husband having shed me as a dependant and moved house needs to reregister his S1. I suspect not as I can’t find any info on this. They say not all countries require this.

Ah… that’s a different look at things…

When we arrived I was the one waving an S1 and OH was piggybacked on mine…

He reached retirement age before I did and gained his own S1 (thankfully this coincided with my own S1 running out… )

and, yes, we took his brand-new S1 to CPAM and they altered things in their computers… so that I could piggyback on his S1 until I reached retirement age and, once again, got an S1 in my own right.

Having got one in my own right… it was simply a trip to CPAM with my S1 and they (once again) juggled things in their computers.

Aaahh! Sorry.

Correct info here

“You are responsible for informing NHS Overseas Healthcare Services if you change your address or your circumstances change.”

Makes sense that one notifies UK (or wherever as appropriate) of a change of Address… otherwise one’s post will go astray.

At least once a year, there’s a pamphlet asking to be notified of changes… in with whatever paperwork arrives whether it be Govt Pensions or Works Pensions

…and if it can’t be delivered and is returned to sender they stop your pension.

seems fair enough… plus Proof of Life is essential so often these days. Another effort to avoid fraud…
