Restaurant advice

A friend and I have arranged for our families to meet up for lunch somewhere near Montauroux in the Var.
We’ve been friends for years online, but have never met in person
before. We had a similar delightful
experience last week, when we met with an old online friend in Antibes for
dinner. We chose a place we dine at once
or twice a month because the food is great and the view of the bay is
delightful from the terrace.

He wanted to take us out and I warned him it might be better to go Dutch as restaurants are not cheap down here. He refused being the lovely man he is and I
imagine the bill came to between three and four hundred Euros for the four of
us. Not a lot of money for a successful
business man, I know, but this other friend’s circumstances are unknown to me.

She will be renting a gite in Montauroux, which is near Draguignon and Grasse. Do we have anyone who knows the area well who
knows a restaurant which is the sort of place locals go to for Sunday lunch because
it is cheerful with good food? Not too
expensive, because I doubt they will allow us to pay the whole bill, but if
they bring six or seven, they could afford to split. I’m probably worrying unnecessarily and they would
not be bothered about the cost and we only want a lovely family meal. But I
would rather they had a darned good time rather than looking at the pricelist
all through the meal.

I want to take them somewhere delightful with a wonderful view and plenty of room in case they bring their daughters and grandchildren. If it
has a terrace and plenty of room to let bored youngsters move around the table,
so much the better.

Please, does anyone know somewhere? Niall and I could drive up on Sunday for lunch and book for next month.
