It was a while ago about the same date as yours but from rough memory at the sewer end 150mm so I stepped mine from 110 to 150mm. The fall on mine was governed by the sewer in the street which was too shallow for the correct fall so had to put up with what they gave me but not had any problem
I was done via the Mairie & a potential planner i don’t have any details
There was no inspection hatch, the end of the pipe was just placed underground at the edge of my property with a marker in the soil to say where it was! Lucky i know where it is. I guess i will have to dig down carefully just in case its a clay pipe, you never know! I was just trying to save time…!
Yes a bit strange, i can only assume it wasn’t fitted because its a straight run to the street, about 10M but for the 750 euros i paid back in 2007 it seems half finished
When asked for my measurement it was about 10m, however they didnt state exactly where they would put it so it ended up about 13m away hence reduced the drop angle being reduced but there is still an inspection chamber. I put in a UK rodding jetting point as well because I didnt want any problems.
Just a novice question, as we are looking to buy a property, that will probably need work done to connect it to the mains drain. Did you contact ground work contractors to place the pipes or it had to be contractors appointed by the Mairie to finish the job and being signed off according to building regulations?
Well no one came apart from the old guy walking his dog who spoke fantastic english and was a translator for the British army during the occupation of France. Maybe he told the mairie what a great job I had done
I had a sewer pipe installed a while back, and from what I remember, they usually go with 110mm for residential connections. For the fall, 1/80 seems pretty standard, but it can depend on local codes or the installer’s preference. If you’re unsure about the size or fall, you might want to give your local council or a plumber a call—they can usually look up records or even come out and measure it for you if needed.
