Solidarity Is Alive And Well In France

I read the terrible news that a family of five in the next village lost everything they owned in a house fire on Monday.

An appeal went out as they were left with just the clothes they stood up in.

As my sister’s three boys were of a similar age, we both felt we could donate something to lend a hand.

I rang the Mairie this morning, and was thanked but told they now have everything they need.

That’s not bad going in five days - it is wonderful to see that the local community have rallied around so quickly.

It will in some small way compensate them for their trauma and loss to know they are cared about by their neighbours.
