Stoking xenophobia

Reminds me of when I flew for the RAF. We were scrambled several times a week night and day to intercept Russian Bear bombers threatening an incursion into British airspace.They did it just to test our defenses. It was never considered an act of aggression or made the news. A strange amicality built up between their crews and us.

Was that in F6 from Leuchars or Bunbrook in the 60/early 70s

Binbrook Lightnings. Superb rockets for the time. Wheels up before the end of the runway and stand it on its’ tail.
