Perhaps it should be mentioned that the habitation tax reductions and exemptions only apply if you submitted your tax return earlier this year. If you only arrived during 2020 you will benefit next year.

I made an appointment with our local impot office online, explaining the reason. On the morning of the appointment someone rang and said we didn’t need to go as we just have to wait. The tax fonciere will eventually be dealt with, maybe not until next year. I was very impressed that a government official took the time to contact us!
But I have found most of the French officials very helpful, only encountered one bossy one.
