Tax Form Corrections

If I exit an attempt to correct my declaration without electronically signing it will it just be ignored? I’ve made a bit of a hash of it but can’t see any way to abandon the changes altogether and reset it to how it was before I started.

Any help appreciated.

Don’t quite understand? The corrections period hasn’t opened yet so not sure what you are looking at?

Hi Jane,

I had an email on 1st August to say it was open until 3rd December.

Stupid! I read october, not August! If exit changes may well not be saved. Don’t really have a choice!

No worries! It’s a bit unhelpful that it saves your changes as you go and there may be an ‘abandonner’ option once you get to the electronic signature section, I just wondered if anybody could confirm that. I have two choices; I can trust that they ignore any changes not signed off on, which I think is the case or do the whole declaration again. Thanks for replying anyway!

I agree. Just from first principles, I think it would be inconceivable that a tax authority would regard a return or amendment that was not explicitly approved by the taxpayer, as being validly made.

Why don’t you give the tax office a quick call, or send them a message through your Espace Particulier or pop in to see them, and ask about how to proceed from here, especially if you still wish to amend your return. Most people report that their tax office staff (with some notable exceptions!) are usually surprisingly helpful….

That’ll be Avranches then🙄
