Tax Heads Up

A quick heads up for those of us who have to fill out tax form 2047K Revenus Encaissés à l'Étranger. I discovered at the bottom of page four that there's a new section eight where you have to enter your total earnings abroad so they can charge you CSG and CRDS. It's not simple as the rates vary from 3.8 pct to 7.5 pct depending on your circumstances. Had a long discussion with my tax inspoector yesterday (he wasn't any more aware of this new bit than I was) and it would appear the basic rate is 6.6 pct. However, depending on your circumstances you may be exonerated. There is an explanatory document on line and I'll try to find the details. But it ain't simple!

This is the document with all the details: http://www.impots.gouv.fr/portal/deploiement/p1/fichedescriptiveformulaire_7575/fichedescriptiveformulaire_7575.pdf
