This was published in the early seventies and mine is the paperback, so it’s a bit yellow, but the binding’s nice and tight , no falling out pages. I bought it off Amazon a little while ago. Carlotta Monti was a starlet back in the 1920’s and caught the eye of WC Fields and became his mistress and very long-suffering partner until his death in 1932. A very interesting account of martini-fuelled movie star excess, with some great one-liners.
