AI not always the bad guy.
Indeed not always the bad guy..but can be.
Today I had a minor stress attack when using AI to check the status of the new national gite database we will have to be on (probably not a bad thing in principle but…) Ai assured me repeatedly it was nationally in force and we risked big fines. It took a bit of precise questioning to make it admit it was wrong and in fact in rural places like ours its not in force yet…
So yes it is useful…but can remain ultra confidently wrong. Bit like the mushroom…
And not always necessary! My growing bugbear is that it is becoming the default that is used first, not last, which could undermine the solid reference sources. My go to for anything administrative is the gouv sites which provides this in less time than it takes to hassle AI to respond correctly
Letting my brother in law loose with AI on a photo I took today is alarming, I appear to have turned into a moustachioed Frenchman…
Interesting article on AI
I filled in a feedback request this week from Services Publics, following the collection of a carte de séjour. I was mildly surprised they bothered to publish it on the national SP website, (though it was quite positive, so they were delighted I’m sure). However what surprised me more was that there was a lengthy measured specific response also published, which the system proudly said was “drafted 100% by AI”, though checked by (presumably a human!) agent.
