Eating meat, driving a car and travelling by aeroplane made up the list of the most polluting things people can do to the planet. But having children was top , according to the new study, published in the journal Environmental Research Letters
So I reckon one piece of meat a week is not excessive since I have no children, haven’t travelled by plane in 10 years, and try to keep mileage down.

Think that depends on what is being grown, where and how it’s being grown, and where it’s being shipped to.
Around here insect populations are in decline and that’s not due to cattle farming.

Something I have wondered for a while, do vegetarians/vegans eat honey??
The former is an emphatic Yes! The latter is no because it involves the ‘exploitation’ of living creatures.
Soon, the plants talking to each other will be telling the venerable olive tree in my garden that he/she has rights and that the annual collecting of its olives by M.Sylvestre is a tragedy of justice.

Still all too common, I’m afraid Stella. Also one of the reasons we rarely, if ever, participate in commune-organised or local club dos, as the food invariably is not vegetarian-friendly, let alone vegan-friendly.
When I see how my wife struggles to get anything half-decently vegetarian in local eateries in the village, it is no surprise that it hasn’t yet filtered down to the level of the commune/clubs.
Me: would you have anything vegetarian ?
Helper: we’ve got tuna quiche…
