A close friend of mine recently had an operation that went wrong and the surgeon made a mistake.Would be interested to know if anybody has sued a French hospital and if so what is the procedure.
Does a no win no fee system operate in France.?

Further to this discussion, as far as I knew the "no win, no fee" didn't exist in France. This is apparently to do with the fact that the legal services and other professions are not allowed to advertise in france. Quite possibly and most probably the info re this that I have is wrong... If you know for sure that "no win, no fee" exists in France, I wonder if you could let me know please how to find a solicitor or how to start the search that is offering this service.
We too would like to take legal action to do with medical service (although have to add that experience here of french hospital surgeons and staff has been pretty good) but there have been blunders to do with physio and other stuff which have caused lifelong problems. If you or anyone knows how to find no win no fee, please do let us and the survive france community know. Thank you.....

I have been trying to start an action for about eight months. It is very difficult. To begin with, to try to sue one either needs one of the support organisations or a lawyer. The patient support groups simply do not answer each attempt to get their advice, let alone support. Lawyers cost what is often what somebody might expect to get as compensation. I wish I could say more but that is a s far as I have (not) got.
