I've been in France with a tourist visa for 6 weeks, and understand that I can remain in the Schengen region for a total of 12 weeks. If I want to stay in France longer, may I cross a border to a non-Schengen country, and if so, which countries fall into that category? And then does my visa for France restart the three-month period? Thank you very much.
