Two birds with one stone

Having listened for years to Johnson and Co. claiming that there is no need for a border between the EU and the UK on the island of Ireland while also claiming that a very hard border was required between the EU and the UK at Dover and its environs, I think I’ve come up with a solution that Johnson, Frost and Patel should be happy with.

The French authorities should charter a large cruise ship weekly which can ferry refugees from Calais to Carlingford Lough where they can safely make their way over to the UK at some point in the 499km RoI/NI border at their leisure. No more pressure in the Channel or on Patel, and Johnson and Frost will have had the pleasure of being proved right on the NIP. Rather a good win win, even if I say so myself :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
