Two movies I want to watch over Christmas

Haaretz strongly recommended this one.

And I read this book. A good story, especially for anyone familiar with Southern Africa.

Whats Netanyahu’s criminal investigation for financial corruption or growing up in Zimbabwe got to do with politics :joy: This was thread about movies.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York for me. Of course there is that Trump scene.

And we all know where it’s likely to end!

But if you plan to keep it strictly about Christmas films then please reclassify it :slightly_smiling_face:.

Frankly I’m a bit pissed off. If I wanted to start a political thread I would have.

The reason I have started threads with political content in the general category in the past is because I mostly use my iPad and scrolling down to “P” was a pain. In fact I’ve found this platform has a few formatting issues on iPads. However, as you know, there has been a consensus that political content should reside in the politics category. So why would I not adhere to that?

I’m going to sulk now (and the new washing machine is arriving).

There only 3 Christmas films.

1 - Die Hard

2 - Home Alone

3 - Gremlins

I’d argue that The Muppet Christmas Carol should be added to that short list :frog:

Is that the one with James Stewart and June Allyson?

YES to Die Hard. I bought a “Nakatomi Tower 1988 Christmas Party” t-shirt last year, and (so far) there is not one person who does not love it.

A surprisingly entertaining, if bloody romp through a Christmassy London is on Netflix now. ‘Black Doves’.

As the Company slides into oblivion I was reading about the resignation of Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger. For some reason the phrase “Goodbye Mr. Chips” came to mind :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

That made me research that great film. It’s got to be on my Christmas list :slightly_smiling_face:

A Christmas Carol 1999, staring Patrick Stewart.
