UK General Election 2024

Surprise General Election!

Clever lady, wants to put labour to the sword, and get Carte blanche for Brexit.

Bookies going 1/10 on for the conservatives to win.

In my book, she’s no lady!

She is reneging on the Cameron election pledge to give Brits who have been out of the country for more than fifteen years the right to vote.
No voting in the Referendum, no voting in this general election. This is appalling and I will not be voting Tory.

Not so lady like to think and say one thing and then rally around the world in opposition.
This, to me shows someone who is just in search of power and too egocentric to be

How can we vote?
I Still have the right but will be blocked I am sure.
Like I was for the referendum.

Sounds intriguing Barbara - you’re not a Russian spy are you? !!

You do need to register and claim a postal vote. Perhaps it will work out this time.

waiting…just to see if I get the paper in the post…

… 7 years later.
Looks like a July election is about to be called, according to the buzz around WM.
Long term planning by the Tories?
Inflation down, so in 5 years they can say they left office with low inflation but look at it now. Cynical me.

They are jiggered regardless of when they call it - perhaps Sunak sees some slim advantage in going to the country before the rest of the year’s bad news (e.g. higher food prices and shortages caused by customs controls) kicks in.

It will still be a Tory massacre but I would be glad if he does call it for July so as to get the agony over with - and the sooner Labour can get in and start the long process to sort things out, the better.

Lower inflation has zero to do with Government action of course, it just means that last year’s inflationary causes have filtered out of the statistics.

And 2.3% inflation is still inflation - it’s not a decrease in costs or a rise in living standards.

I’m going to book 5th July as a holiday now… Election Night will be a massive, massive party

4th July!

Announcement incoming…

The podium is out in front of no. 10… about time too!

(Actually maybe not… it’s raining!)

In the rain  Why not use that media studio they spent millions on?

Sunak has no sense of irony… Independence Day!

We can all set him free to go live the rest of his life in California.
