UK net migration falls

Is this some sort of policy success or just that we have become so xenophobic and so unattractive to Europeans post-B*****?

How’s France doing on this double edged measure of “progress”?

I think Europeans have been put off - didn’t a lot leave before Brexit? This isn’t representative but a relative works in a care home. To start with they had mostly Europeans, a lot of them being from eastern Europe, but now the agencies are looking at places like South Africa, India and the Phillipines.

91,737 net migration in 2025 according to the World Bank.31,000 were “removed”….

Yes that is my experience too - a couple of years ago I filmed an induction trainign video for a care home group - the staff giving the talks were mostly from Eastern Europe originally - the inductees were from Zimbabwe, Nepal, India and the Philippines, with a couple of UK folks.

France’s figures for net migration have been fairly constant from 2023+, ie around 90,000 a year, rather lower than the UK’s..
