I think Europeans have been put off - didn’t a lot leave before Brexit? This isn’t representative but a relative works in a care home. To start with they had mostly Europeans, a lot of them being from eastern Europe, but now the agencies are looking at places like South Africa, India and the Phillipines.
Yes that is my experience too - a couple of years ago I filmed an induction trainign video for a care home group - the staff giving the talks were mostly from Eastern Europe originally - the inductees were from Zimbabwe, Nepal, India and the Philippines, with a couple of UK folks.
France’s figures for net migration have been fairly constant from 2023+, ie around 90,000 a year, rather lower than the UK’s..
