Underground, overground....well underground, underground...now

Sorry about the title of the discussion, very poor taste I know! Elizabeth Beresford creator of the Wombles very sadly died on Christmas Eve. If you click on the link you can hear tributes to her from Bernard Cribbins and Mike Batt. Cribbins did the voiceover for the TV shows and Batt wrote the songs. When you think that the first books were published in the early 1960s they were very ahead of their time - for those of you who have never heard of the Wombles here's a mini video clip. They used to collect and recycle rubbish from Wimbledon Common and had fabulous names eg Madame Cholet, Great Uncle Bulgaria, even now when I hear these names on the news a Womble pops into my head!
