So true!! I’m not after the fawning, saccharine American style approach, just the basics of listening to what customers say, responding as best one can, and following up if that is what you promised to do. Occasionally an apology for crap service would be nice, but I’d be happy with the basics. Although recently I did get an apology from being overcharged yet again at SuperU, and nearly fell over in surprise.

ahah, can’t agree more. I suppose we get what we pay for, let’s just say that the French “default mindset” is to avoid paying for services as much as possible (most think everything should be free basically). I think it’s cultural as we are happy to pay 600€ for an overpriced Hermes belt or 300€ for a channel perfume but tipping or paying extra to get a decent level service oh no let’s run away as far as we frenchly can… guess what happened to the level of service then? :joy:
