Urgent Appeal for BELLA - 1 to 2 year-old Female Labrador Cross
Phoenix came across this girl at the Bergerac SPA and felt we HAD to do something!
She is lovely-natured, adorable, playful and full of life yet is suffering from demodectic manage, a skin condition caused by parasitic mites. Most dogs are immune to demodectic mange, but pups can catch it from the mother, which is most likely what happened here, in which case a full cure is possible. Otherwise, dogs with compromised immune systems and the elderly are at a higher risk. It is not contagious to humans.
We are appealing for a foster or permanent home for this poor girl as the SPA will not keep her indefinitely. She needs a kind soul who is prepared to put in the effort to care for her condition which will involve baths, antibiotics and a pipette every two weeks until she is cured. Her fur will grow back and she should be able to lead a normal life.
Phoenix will cover the costs of all treatment for Bella and if you are able to take her, we will get her out of the SPA, to our vets and then to your home with all the treatment in place.
