It looks like there will be no let up of this unseasonably wet weather until Sunday at the earliest so I am inviting your suggestions and recommendations as to what to do on a wet weekend in France.
Be inventive!
Thanks
James

Jacquie, cross your fingers. My grass seed has been washed away so often that I have totally given up.
I've just strewn grass seed onto the bare patches on my lawn... This could be a good activity for a wet weekend if warmer weather really is going to happen sometime soon.
We have just had the lames replaced on the pool cover from the storm last Autumn. No more please!
We are lucky....the trees on our land are all oak.....we need to pull out or chop down a lot of saplings...that will never grow as too close to other trees or starved of light....but even so...we are talking about storage for a couple of years...and...er....without being too optimistic...we are rather hoping to move in the next couple of years!
Carol, we have cutting rights on our neighbour's hectare plus of woodland. Those of us who do have that right have cleared it of all deadwood and so on. Cutting, as you say, would be pointless but the worst is that over half of trees of an age to fell are mainly pines. If anybody wishes to mess up their chimney liner...
hehe! we have half an acre of woodland.....but tend to just take the dead trees and odd hanging branches... as you say, cutting now is useless...cant burn green wood.
Watch out James your pallet table could be at risk here!
One of our neighbours has a wooden barn... hmmm, just a thought (bet we're not the only one though).
I ran out a month ago and have resorted to chopping up whatever wood I have lying around. This includes 2 sterre of logs I got in exchange for a PC repair.
Next to do will be the old front door which is going to be a real b*gger to dismantle.
Same problem Carol. We have about a month's worth of wood left, but have really gone heavily into what should have been the autumn stuff ready cut for when we start again. Our wood man tells us he is out of stuff ready to cut and use and quite a few other woodmen are - and we are in a forest! The stuff cut since last spring is apparently mainly too wet to shift and using it would be useless because much of it has not dried out enough.
We are going to run right out of logs at this rate...didnt think we would still be having fires 2 days before the start of June!
Annie - rising damp perhaps ;-)
Crazy! I was just listening to a repeat radio 4 extra programme about Kangeroo Dundee...and Aussie who looks after sick and injured Kangeroos. He was saying the babies sleep in his bed as it gets so cold in Alice Springs in teh winter....at night it can get down to -4 degrees......huh....he wants to try a French Spring!
Even the fire is sulking, I think the wood might be wet. Now how did that happen I wonder???????
Acc France Info it got down to below 4°C in Paris on the 24th, coldest 24th May since 1875 !
If you were just a bit closer Carol I 'd be on the doorstep with my mug......
Oh Steve if only it were that simple, I loathe housework! So you see how bored I am!
Did I hear right? the beeb just said it has been the coldest spring since 1910 when records began????What about wettest? any one know?
agree! off to boil the kettle again.....!
