What do you wish you'd bought before you got to France?

Lol…I saw them in a sale but had no clue what size to buy…went home did a bit of research and the following week I confidently bought two…got home and first try on they were up round my neck…adjusted the straps to the lowest setting and the first time I bent down my cup runneth over as if I hadn’t even got it on…:grinning:

I tried sleeping in them to relax the lace and fabric but after half hour of not sleeping and not being able to breathe either they had to come off…

I tried using them as catapults and slingshotting various items across my wilderness all to no avail…I keep trying but as soon as I put them on I seem to have at least half a dozen instead of two…glad it’s not just me…x :grinning:

I gave up bras years ago, couldn’t stand to be tortured anymore. I now wear pretty lacy caracos, so comfortable and easy to wear.
Come on girls, burn your bras !!:blush:

Do they offer good support??

Well I wouldn’t run through the streets wearing them  They are so comfortable though, I will put the link here. By the way I pay 19.99 euros for my caracos and not the price here. I can usually find them in hypermarkets like Auchan, etc;. Available in Black or White and at Christmas in other colours!

They look to offer a little support for us more ermm…curvaceous ladies (as opposed to the airbrushed)…??? x

My running/jogging through the streets days are long gone…it’s the bending over bit and falling out bit that I try to avoid now so as not to freak out my neighbours when I’m grooming my Collies…do they prevent that…??? x

Well as I don’t have Collies I can’t say ! :rofl::rofl:

Sorry Helen, couldn’t resist.
Actually because they fit nicely down the sides and around the back I have never had that problem, I would never go back to being trussed up like an oven ready turkey !
Maybe have a look in some of the catalogues like La Redoute etc; that way you can try one on at home and if it’s not right for you then they will refund your money. The hypermarkets won’t exchange/refund bras !

I hate that trussed up like a turkey feeling…so do my daughters…There was a changing room at the supermarket where I bought them but there was not a chance in hell that I was gonna risk it…felt too exposed…It seemed really simple in uk…choose a 36c…put it in my trolley and it always fitted and I had them for years…no fuss…some I thought were pretty and loved the colours and some practical probably more like sports bras but they always fitted even if I fluctuated a stone …no padding…no underwires…just comfy…x

You ladies put the biggest smile on my face!!! Havent giggled like that in a lil moment!!!

I don’t think any style or quantity of bras would have been edible in France.
I get tinned roe sent here sometimes, and shepherds pie mix, not available here.
We have learnt to like french ingredients and make english meals from them.
No regrets, except for hospitals, much the same as where we came from.
I wouldn’t be alive now if it wasn’t for the strong will of my wife, here and UK.

Where do you get the tinned roe from Barry…??? I love that too…fried and on slightly burnt toast with salt and vinegar…not had it in ages…Your wife sounds a strong and lovely lady  …x

Pat’s brother lives in East mids, when we ask him and send money he will send us anything.
I did a quick search, try Britishcornershop.co.uk they do the big tins.

My wife’s wondering why I’m reading something about bras! I think this was a thread about buying stuff in the UK before moving but I may be wrong!

We’ve fitted a new kitchen from Ikea - not very French but very affordable! Ended up buying the carcasses from Ikea in France but the doors and fittings were half the price in the UK so we did a bit of a mix & match. Well worth shopping on both sides if you have the opportunity.

We’ve also been told to avoid French paint as its not up to much and so have brought decent stuff from the UK.

That’s an option if you regularly travel back to the UK. I’m quite happy to buy and use quality paint from outlets like Tollens. A couple of weeks ago I had a beer in a neighbouring holiday home where the French owners were joined by an English friend. He has lived in the north of France for over 30 years working for a firm that produces Dulux paint there.

Paint in France has no antiyellowing additives, we were given a lot of Leyland paint from uk, but it was old and separated and frost damaged waste of money.
Frence Dulux is not the same as uk.
I wish I had brought more Hammerite paint, I do a lot of vehicle resorations.
Hammerite has become very expensive in France and the copies.
