Bit of a departure for the Antiques Roadshow, valuing stolen art.
I always thought there was a lot of stolen or otherwise dodgily acquired stuff on that programme. Eg “here’s the lovely Cartier tiara and matching necklace & earrings combo my great granny, a between-maid, was given as a present by her employer when she left after 2 years’ service.”
Er no she wasn’t.

There were plenty of incidents of "what the butler, or maid, saw " in the well to do houses and such gifts would buy silence so perhaps the dodgy person here was the giver not the taker.
