Have you made the move yet are you still planning, or maybe not even that far at them moment?
Good morning
We came over to France in February to view six properties near to Montembouef that we had shortlisted by looking on the internet beforehand, unfortunately none of them were suitable. While we were staying at our B&B, hubby spotted a property for sale in a regional magazine that was near Saint Maixent L'ecole so we arranged a viewing.
The property was perfect, but as we were on a tight schedule, we didnt have time to explore the area! We went home, did some further research on the area and decided to put in an offer on the property which was accepted!! We came over at Easter to sign the Comprimis and the property should be ours at the beginning of July.
The property will be used as a holiday home for the next 2 years until we both retire, we then plan to move over to France permanently..........we can't wait!!
We are moving over to France shortly and our families are also in Australia. One of our main considerations was the closeness of facilities as we are both in our 60's. Personally that is the option I would go for.
Good to hear there are other ex Aussies in the Charante. My wife and I are about 3 months behind you having just bought in Vitrac Saint Vincent. We both worked for the Australian Government before retiring last year,
We can still watch the Grand Final on Sky

Thanks Chris
I'm afraid we don't allow the posting of links to your own business except on your profile page. Sorry about that!
Kind regards
James
OK thanks James. I will post another discussion, the site is www.peoplecommunicateltd.com.
Sounds like an interesting product. I look forward to seeing the discussion and what others have to say on the subject.
My main activity is the running of this site.
James
Well good question! I cannot judge but I have seen that it is better than some who lived in France for years but that is not saying much, I suspect. The idea of appointing French, or French speaking agents was to overcome that initial learning period. It is also an international market so I could ignore France and and just market worldwide, but that seems a shame! I am speaking, for example to a language school in Belarus at the moment and we are having a test class on Monday!
I will set up a separate discussion, just interested in your opinion? What do you do?
Hi Chris
This probably deserves a discussion thread of its own, my initial thought is how fluent is your French? As both of the activities you would like to pursue are going to require a very good level if you are you get a foot in the door.
James
James thanks very much. I was interested in help with a couple of business ideas and wondered if you can advise?
First we have an online teaching platform which allows very good quality video teaching live together with the resource of creating course materials as well.
I would like to do tow things. 1). Find agents to sell the system on a commission basis to local teachers, businesses and language schools. 2). Find French teachers who would like to teach us before we arrive and also to set up courses for other people online who will be moving out!
Any suggestions?
Chris
Good luck with the move Chris! :)
Yikes, that was a bit of a conversation killer. Sorry!

Four weeks way from the move. Our main furniture shipment is already on the high seas, and our household bits and bobs will begin their journey half way around the globe next week.. we’ll be sleeping on the floor and eating takeaway off paper plates for our first month - and loving every minute of it!
Morning Sheila
Sorry ! You're quite right. I'll think about cutting and pasting my original post but may let it rest now.
Hi Chris
