Whats for Dinner Tonight?

(Véronique Langlands) #101

Thank you! We shall try them here, my children are keen on baking.
These sound almost like the oatmeal cookies we make for goûter and taking to exams, we add raisins or cranberries or chopped apricots and/or nuts and seeds of various sorts.
Just seen photograph, they look marvellous.

You do seem to eat quite a lot of red meat…hope you always have lots of vegetables with it and get your cholesterol checked regularly.

(Bill Morgan) #106

Doesn’t seem excessive to us Jane, had a blood test recently, chol’, and the rest were fine, except I am still a bit anaemic following a hip replacement op’.
Do chips count as veg??? :yum:

(Timothy Cole) #107

Due to the weather we’re still in winter mode so it’s chicken casserole and jacket spuds tonight.

(Bill Morgan) #108

Sounds good Tim’, menu still under consideration ‘ici’

(Chris Kite) #109

It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s Pizza and Chips. Maybe even a little veg…

(Timothy Cole) #110

It had better be good otherwise er indoors is in trouble!

How long ago did you have your hip done?

(Paul Flinders) #111

Sausage, egg and chips.

(Bill Morgan) #112

Sure you don’t mean that Tim
Had the hip done in Redon, early Oct., a highly recommended Moroccan Surgeon, due to retire very soon, so ‘got in’ before he did :slightly_smiling_face:

(Bill Morgan) #113

Pintade a la Normande, Basmati & Wild Rice. :slightly_smiling_face:

(Jane Jones) #114

Koshari - Egyptian dish of lentils, rice and pasta with spicy tomato sauce. Followed by hot cross buns if they prove in time!

(Bill Morgan) #115

That sounds good Jane and it must be over 1/4 century since I had an 'ot + bun!

(Véronique Langlands) #116

I remember kushri stalls in Cairo when I was a student, delicious. The thing I would love a stall for here is ta’amiya!

(anon88888878) #117

Oh yesssss vero - I used to get a plate full asap after arriving in Cairo - not in the crew hotel but from a guy with a stall-on-wheels parked across the road - simply delicious  Would that have been a kushri stall??

(Bill Morgan) #118

Only thing we were offered, on arrival at the Suez Canal, were Victorian era pornographic photos

(anon88888878) #119

Brought 2 packs home with me on Monday Bill - all gone!!!

(anon88888878) #120

Anyone you knew?? (Joking!!!)
