I am over 70. My UK licence shows a date under 4(a) - date of issue - of April 2021. I have actually held a licence for some 40 years but is the date in 2021 the important one for my exchange for a French licence? In which case, should I go ahead within six months or wait until nearer the expiry in 2024? Does it really matter?
4b is the critical date, I understand. 6 months before that is the date to apply
