Where do you live?

Hey, merci bien

Not too many votes for the Morbihan then? Only a “maison secondaire” but we are in 56, about 36km east (& a tiny bit north) of Vannes.

I suspect Brittany is quietly popular with Brits - we didn’t choose it that way but have about 4 sets of British neighbours within 100m of the house.

Hello everyone
I live in South Berry Province (36) not seen much about this area on SF so here goes

We are very close to the Creuse department and our countryside is typical of the Bas-Berry region, a region that incorporates the foothills of the Massif Central making it a hilly and wooded area.

Indre is our department, but it has borders with the Creuse and Limousin departments, locally our landscape is that of fields separated by hedges and ditches with grazing for animals . There are large areas of woodland and we are lucky to live close to the Parc des Parelles, a park that has been classified as a “Sensitive Natural Area” . This remarkable site, once an old granite quarry , has clearings dotted with giant moss covered granite blocks, and there are many walks with footpaths crossing bubbling streams. It inspired the famous George Sand’s novel ’ Nanon’, there is an amphitheatre amid the greenery and in the summer it comes alive with musical and story telling performances, it’s a magical place.

Here is a well produced site that has some lovely photos and videos of this area
