Where/how to send additional documents requested for CV

Logistical question regarding my application: When I applied for my Carte Vitale, I was able to drop the documentation off at the local CPAM office. I have just received a letter from the Perigueux office asking for additional documentation. I am in Sarlat. Can I drop that additional documentation off at my local CPAM office or must I mail it in to Perigueux ? Shockingly  the letter is unclear where to send it.

I’d ask my local CPAM office if they’d receive the documents.

CPAM is notorious for loosing documents, so check first as Porridge says before you send anything. Saving yourself €6.11 for a LRAR stamp may not be worth it if the documents vanish.

IME they will lose it internally if you drop it off at Sarlat. If your departement CPAM is anything like mine.

Wondering if Sarlat would agree to certify they’ve seen the originals, and email copies to Périgueux while you keep the originals, and if that would be acceptable to Périgueux.

CPAM lost a set of documents between offices that I’d given them. Including one document whose replacement cost was over £100.

Wow that is unfortunate.

Yes, CPAM lost our documents as well when we first applied. They didn’t ask for replacements until 3 months later. Then after that, when we got an rdv they said they’d lost the second set. We’d taken a third set with us and the person at the rdv briefly glanced at them before saying everything was OK. We got our cards a few weeks later.

Once again @JaneJones is right

Yes I too have had that CPAM experience. In our first weeks in France many years ago I was foolish enough to give them an original certificate. Pre-internet groups so no-one to point out the stupidity of doing this! It took me staging a stand-in in front of officers’ desk for them to actually make the effort to find it, which they did.
