Where to go

Hi, we have our son and family coming to stay for a few days next weekend. We are looking for suggestion where to go within 1 hour of Chalus 87230.

we have been to Brantome, and Perigueux and would like some similar places

all suggestion welcome

If you are interested in horses visit Arnac Pompadour, its natioal stud and a nice city.

Farther, go to Uzerche, the pearl of Limousin.

We are looking for somewhere with pavement cafes.

Ah, ok.

I was thinking of somewhere like the Parc Raynaud near Limoges. It's like an animal park, less formal than a zoo and great for the family to spend a few hours walking around. It's near the Carrefour at Boisseuil.

I agree about Limoges. We had to pick someone up from the airport and decided to do an overnight stay. What a wonderful surprise, beautiful city. The porcelain museum is stunning, but maybe a bit muich for a 21 month-old!

If you want to avoid big cities, try the Château d'Excideuil. You won't be disappointed!

Spot on Chris. Limoges is a great place to wile away some time. It's doable with a pushchair too. there are some lovely gardens with fountains around the cathedral with bars etc on hand. The museum next to the cathedral is brilliant and free !

The railway staions is superb and well worth a visit just for the architecture. Over the road is the Champ de Mars with gardens and fountains.

The city centre is quite user-friendly too - loads of plaes to explore with bars etc everywhere.

Hi, thank you for your replies, we have one problem our transport is an 8 mtr Motorhome, we have had trouble before when trying to park in Limoges. Hence looking for smaller towns!
