I was born in Weston-Super-Mare but moved to Tamworth when I was about 5, when my parents moved there to build the Embassy Leisure Center. We lived in Lane house on Lichfield Road and then renovated Dosthill Hall which was later bought by Lloyds Chemist as their HQ (I think). My Gran lived by the canal next the Amington hump back bridge.

Small world James, I used to go fishing on the cut near to where your gran lived, my cousin Janet Archer used to live near Dosthill hall and my mum still lives in the flats just off Lichfield St.
We ended up living at Shuttington before upping sticks and moving to Weymouth in 1986, still go back a few times a year to see mum and my sister but it has changed a lot, lots of happy memories though.

My uncle was a police constable in Tamworth in the early 1940s. My parents used to take me on a visit to see him and my aunt. We travelled by bicycle, me sitting on Dad’s sidebar. I was about 5, but I remember their police flat, and Uncle Frank’s truncheon. He may have caught someone 's lughole for being a cheeky little s*d in those days…

I am a moderator on an international car forum and am one of those who get to say yes or no to new applicants … some of the names/aliases that folk use, can lead to them being vetoed…(.rightly or wrongly)… if they appear too way-out

well it says my name Harry fawcett and its a simple click button “Join” I tried again today and just went and looked and its again the pending has gone and just “Join”
