Thanks for sharing this Stella, we’ve spent our holidays for the last 3 years in that area and looked into moving there before ending up on the Med. There is a lot of protest against an airport planned for the area but I never heard about this. I’m an amateur birder and know they can cause harm to birds but I think wind farms are preferable to burning fossil fuel. I’m quite surprised this is the first wind farm in France though!
Its obviously not the first wind farm in France, its the first floating one. Its a new Norwegian invention, wind turbine mounted on some sort of floating platform. Turbine is anchored in place rather than concreted into the ocean floor. There was a feature on this subject on UK TV a little while ago.
