Chats du Quercy Cat Rescue Centre has been donated some bottles of Bordeaux Edouard Vigneron, these are serigraphiée and seem to be of value but I haven't got a clue what price to place them at!!
Can anyone help? Any budding wine buffs?? Thanks in advance
Thanks David, it is good to know, I don't particluarly like Bordeaux wine and I have no wine knowledge at all, so any advie is great.
Amongst the bottle is one exactly as you've descibed, a d-day commemorative label, and they are all dated around 1990.
Oh well - anyone fancy a wine party at my place???
I'm no real expert but a bit of basic research suggests that the company Eduard Vigneron specialised in packaging very ordinary Appelation Bordeaux in decorative commemorative bottles to celebrate for example D Day or the centenary of a fairly ordinary chateau eg Chateau Josselin. Some commemorative bottles from the firm are being offered on Le Bon Coin for 1euro. there may be a collectors market for such bottles but the wine they contain is pretty ordinary and anything beyond ten or twelve years old is probably getting well past its best. Sorry to disappoint as it's for the cats but as I say I'm no real expert. Essentially they are novelty items. Get a second opinion!
