I don't understand the relevance of your reply to the OP but notwithstanding that I think it would help me if you could explain further. If you are talking about a product that keeps a woodburning chimney clean I would love to know more.
If your flue has not been cleaned for a couple of years and has a tar build up then don't bother. After you have had a proper clean use one every three months or so and it will help keep the chimney flue clean. I have been using them in the UK and here for around 20 years and find them pretty good if regular, unfortunately very few people seem to bother.
