Working remotely in France for a Canadian company on a student visa (3B)? Is that possible

Hi, I work part time hours and have been for a few years at a Canadian company. I am Canadian. I will be going to France on exchange for a semester, but would like to keep my job and work abroad from my laptop. The work is doable and I work from home in Canada anyways. But what are the legal issues regarding it if any?

I would imagine that it will be complicated as working in France for foreign companies with no presence in France always is and the fact that it’s not just a simple question of taxation but of social charge payments as well.
There are however age related tax thresholds for students which you would be able to take advantage of but what it will probably come down to is whether the Canadian company is prepared to go through the trouble and expense of making your position legitimate.
If you work on your laptop in France the French tax system considers that you are working in France even if you are working for a foreign company with foreign clients. If you only have one client, your employer, they are responsible for paying contributions in France.
You really do need to seek specialist advice.
