Anyone else watch some of yesterday’s boating extravaganza?
What amazed me was that the bloke (no names- no pack drill!!) that was doing the commentating as they got to HMS Belfast, obviously knew nothing about boats – certainly not BIG ones – as he announced that HMS Belfast was – at 91,000 tons – the biggest cruiser the navy had ever had.
Now this is a slight exaggeration – well, HUGE actually, as that is nine times bigger than it actually is! That would have made it more than twice as big as the German battleship Bismark!
Now, one can ignore a slight slip of the tongue on a live broadcast, but his co-presenter repeated it and then they played it again during the highlights program last night!!
Am I the only one that noticed???
