You Tube problem on TV

I watch a lot of YT on my TV as much of the normal stuff does not interest me but a couple of days ago it failed about a minute in to the video and a sign said there was a problem and either try again or click a Q code.

Trying again, on different videos, did not work and not sure how to click a code and in any case am nervous of doing so.

However, YT still works perfectly on the PC and as both take their feed from my wifi, it is a bit of a mystery.

Anyone know what is going on?

YT app on a smart TV?

Do you use the same YT account on PC and TV?

Hard to say as I don’t remember having an account with YT for anything. How do I check?

My Sony Brava TV has a YouTube channel that I can click on anytime. It all comes via the Freebox package I have for the internet, mobile phone and is fibre optique. This is quite an old TV too and have never clicked or seen any Q code which I would not know what to do with anyway

If you subscribe to any YT channels, you must have an email registered with Google somewhere.

On your PC, the YT screen should have a Settings menu somewhere.

I view YT on both an iPad using the YT app and a Firestick using the YT. They sometimes lose sync and the YT system pops up a code on the TV via the Firestick to enter into the Y5 app on the iPad to sync it all up again.

I appreciate the help but it is all double Dutch to me. Tried holding the iphone with camera app switched on at the QR code on the tv. Nothing happens. Can’t find settings anywhere on anything.

Just got this message from YT help, going to try it later when I have more time:

If this is happening on your TV:

Sign out and then in again, then try playing a video again.
'Power cycle' your device. The best way to do this is by unplugging the device completely, leaving it unplugged for 10-15 seconds, then plugging back in and turning back on.
Confirm if you have the same issue on other devices connected to your wifi. If you're having this issue on more than one device, the problem may be your internet connection. It can help in these cases to reboot your router just like you did your device.
Uninstall and reinstall the YouTube app on your TV.
Update your device software.

Not working and now locked out altogether on the TV. Have sent another message to them. Still OK on the computer though.
