Just binge -watched all 4 seasons of ‘The Cleaning Lady’ on Netflix, loved it.
ItvX knocking out of the park with some great series.
Just watched “The Stranger”
Watched some silly TV on Netflix
Italian (English subtitles) BUEN CAMINO
Route to Compostela, father/daughter comedy/drama
French series (English subtitles) FLUNKED
Criminal becomes teacher to catch another criminal…
both have some laugh out loud moments…
On a more serious note, Martin Sheen starred in a film called ‘The Way’ which we watched several years ago. It was a good film with some beautiful scenery.
Also recently watched a Jeremy Renner film from 2014 called ‘Kill the Messenger’. Based on a true story. Both of us enjoyed it.
I agree about The Way. Lovely film, lovely man. ![]()
Just watched the most wonderful and moving programme on BBC1 - Davis Attenborough, celebrating his 100th birthday. Such a very, very special man.
I have taken to watching the iPlayer archive of ‘University Challenge’ Apart from the interest in the questions and answers I have a fond belief that trying to get in before a buzzer or the bonus questions helps to keep the neuron pathways operating.
I remember an edition of the quiz when a team from winners of years ago - a ‘celebrity’ team of broadcasters, I think - took on a contemporary team of winners. The old lags lost heavily.
They agreed that knowing the answers was not the issue. It was the speed at which the answer could be fished out of the memory banks which held them back.
I now know this to be true. There have been answers I knew perfectly well. It just hasn’t come to me in time to beat the buzzer. It’s enraging.
A good example is the actor who was the lead in ‘Paris, Texas’ I’ve watched this film many times - Ry Cooder’s music track one reason. Everything about the actor was up in my mind’s eye - he also played one of the military police holding the ‘Godfather’ Mafioso who, when confronted with the court but with his Sicilian brother lowring behind him, declared all his previous testimony to be lies and subsequently commits suicide.
I just could not get the word ‘Harry Dean Stanton’ to come out in time. Nor ‘Caravaggio’ when presented with a dead cert of a Caravaggio painting. And a Goya portrait. Substitute a woman for The Duke of Wellington and you’ve got a Goya.
No. They just stuck there in the sludge that is the memory these days
Just started watching Legends on Netflix. These days Steve Coogan is always worth watching.
About Customs Agents going after drug gangs in the nineties. Based on reality.
So far very interesting and well done.
Its on my list to watch.
Just a similar name and a similar theme. The word legend in this context refers to the backstory that secret agents have.
As it does in the French series.
I thought it was something to do with feet. ![]()
I’ve just watched the first episode, it’s definitely got potential.
